These are some of the photographs I took while traveling in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, last June and July. There are more where these came from if you dig down in The Lovely Archives. There are some good videos in there too. Tonight I’m boarding a plane that will fly me across the Pacific to take me right back there. I’ll be teaching at the Kaohsiung American School along with three great writers, great teachers, and three of my greatest friends, Sara Marshall, Brandon Shimoda and Dot Devota. From here on out in the coming weeks, they will be referred to as S, B, and D, respectively. You should follow along and check in with us here every once in a while to see what we’re up to. I’ll try to keep up with The Persons of the Week too.

Amy Lawless and James Gendron are going on their Sex & Death tour in celebration of their new Octopus Books books and have invited me along to the first two readings, Portland, ME, and NYC, NY. I will read sex poems in Maine, death poems in New York.

And then, in the few weeks after that, I’ll be pushing a tiny rental car with three of my very favorite humans on the planet from graveyard to graveyard across France, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, and Belgium. Their names are Joshua Marie Wilkingson, Dot Devota, and Brandon Shimoda. If you’re looking for me, here’s where I’ll be, and when, and how.

I’ll be train-ing myself down to Tucson for a month this winter for a lot of R&W with Brandon Shimoda and Dot Devota. But for now, about 40 days and nights away from the desert, I’ll be content with this new Cy Dune video, Tucson’s own, Seth from Akron Family, with both Brandon and Dot featured in it, shooting up spray paint cans in the Sonoran desert. See what Pitchfork has to say about Cy Dune.
