Looks like a poem of mine got hand-picked for the team today by the team captain over at VerseDaily. It is a poem with cats in it. And this pretty much really happened kind of.

Read Jenny Zhang's latest piece in Rookie called Outsider/Insider. She brings up her trip with Manual Cinema and me. So good. It makes me want to never stop driving that Econoline along the edge of everyone else’s world.

Off to a good start. Fjords vol 1 has had a few kind words said about it so far. The most recent review is by J.A. Tyler for The Nervous Breakdown. And here’s one in Publisher’s Weekly. And here’s one in The Rumpus. And here’s one for Vouched.

I’d like to be a bit more elaborate about what I’ll be doing on the Academy of American Poets tumblr feed this Monday. I’m going to take advantage of that time to put the local Portland poetry scene on the national map for a day. I am going to film myself reading one short poem of a different Portland-based poet on the hour, every hour, from 6am (PST) until midnight, and then post it to the Academy’s Tumblr right then, throughout the day. I’m going to bike around the whole day and read all over town, in front of different Portlandy places, and take the Tumblr reader through my day through Portland.
I’d love it if you’d follow along. See where I go, and listen to some poems all day. Ok? Alright. I’ll see you dark and early.

Yesterday afternoon, while in a Vermillion, SD, thrift shop, Heather Christle and I wrote poems out of the book titles on the shelf. Here are my 3 poems.

I’m one of those 30 poets who is going to take over the Academy of American Poets Tumblr feed. Here is what’s happening on it right now. My day is April 9.

40 plays

Tonight, Manual Cinema and I will be on the Lower East Side at the Poetry Project at St. Marks. I feel like this.

Manual Cinema and I have landed in NYC and we’ll be camping out here for the week. Come see Fjords tonight at The Tank, or at Labrynth Books in Princeton tomorrow, or at the WRtRLtWRtW series Thursday night, or at the Poetry Project at St. Marks Church Friday night. Ok? Ok. Now I’m going to take a quick nap.

I talked for 1 hour and 17 minutes with Joshua Marie Wilkinson for The Pleistocene.
